Hey, I'm Amy(la)!

I’m a fun-loving, introverted hippie health freak.

I love coffee, music, yoga, reading, trail running, lifting heavy shit, shaking my booty, making jewelry, morning strolls, sunshine, and hugging trees. I also love the ocean, crystals, tarot cards, making people laugh and a good messy bun.

I'm a mama to the coolest little dude around and if I'm not working there's a 95% chance he and I are having a dance party or watching Marvel movies.

My best friend is a German Shepard named Tessie, who is literally the pwettiest gurl in da world.

My Story

If you're here chances are you're looking for someone to help you create a healthier lifestyle and you might be curious as to what qualifies me to be that person.

Here are my certifications:

*Graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2015 as a Holistic Health Coach (official title is Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.... or as I say HHP with the AADP)

*Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA)

*Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coach (PN L1)

*200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher (200-RYT) with Yoga Renew (In progress!)

However, I think what's more important than an extensive list of trainings is a quick recap of my own wellness journey. I've struggled since a young age with disordered eating. Over the years I've starved myself, binged and purged, tried all the pills, powders, and potions you can imagine and given an obnoxious amount of fad diets a try (hello, Cabbage Soup Diet-barf). All of this fueled by poor body image and a few jerks in my life who made me feel bad about myself along the way. I've been a size 02, a size 12 and everywhere in-between. It wasn't until my mid-twenties, on the heels of my exhaustive party days (IYKYK), that I had that glimpse in the mirror that brought me to my knees. I just straight up hated the way my body looked, but more than that, I hated how I FELT.

The stars aligned and a gym was built next to my apartment. I worked up the courage to join and never looked back. Results in my appearance were not instant- It took awhile to see my body change, but the CONFIDENCE that grew everyday was the change I didn't know I needed. Confidence aside, I think the biggest thing I've learned is that I'm more than the number on the scale or the size of my jeans.

I could write a book about my journey (maybe some day), but I'm running out of space.

My point is that a wellness lifestyle was not something I was born into. I've had a journey of positive and negative experiences that a certification can't compare to. If you're looking for a coach that can relate to what you're going through- I'm your gal.
